We don't miss James Young at all IMO.

I would probably take a pure slashing three like Stanley Johnson. Lyles has done a good job but doesn't go to the basket enough--probably because he has spent most of his basketball career up until this point playing in the paint.

James Young was the worst defender we've ever had IMO lol.

Yep, strangely--and surprisingly--we've been a decent three-point shooting team of late.

It's just a three-game sample size, so I'm not sure. But we're at 34% from outside. That's a pretty substantial improvement in just a couple of weeks.

In the Ole Miss game, definitely. Not in the other two games.

I want to call the Miss game a fluke or something but am not sure. Sometimes teams just go through funks and surges in this sport. Ole Miss had come in hot so really their hot shooting wasn't a surprise. Kentucky may be on a tick downward, which tends to happen after Camp Cal. A lot of dead legs and so on. Seems like Cal's teams have always hit their skid right through December January--but for the most part those "skids" haven't involved much losing.

Also, freshmen always hit a wall. Every freshmen we've had with the exception of Davis has gone through a stretch of games where they just looked lethargic and slow. Even MKG had a stretch like that. This may be Tyler Ulis's.

I'll underline my pick of Okafor. Teams are taking away the baseline when UK gets in the lane. They are taking away the mid range game. UK needs a post game and none of the bigs are currently capable. UK is fine with three point shooting. UK is fine with guys getting in the lane. Finishing around the basket in traffic is a huge hole right now.

If i had to pick one player from another team to put on this Kentucky team, it would probaly be Justise Winslow out of Duke to play the small forward position for us. My second choice would probaly be Harrell (can't believe i said that but yes we need toughness).

Can't lie, i was a little irked at WCS today sitting on the bench smiling having a good time when we where down in the overtime, this **** aint funny........
