Ashley Judd Doesn't Like Rupp Arena's Free Throw Promotion

This is in reference to Rupp Arena's and Chick-fil-A's thing where they're urging fans to cheer against opponents shooting free throws, and if they miss both the crowd (at least in that section) gets a free chicken sandwich.

I like Ashley, but this may be the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

I agree. I've never understood the appeal of Ashley Judd. She is attractive and quite smart, but she holds some pretty wacky opinions.

I would say her disdain for this promotion goes deeper than that. She probably can't stand Chik-Fil-A for some of their political beliefs. She like all celebrities just need to keep their opinions to themselves because most everyone really doesn't care what they think.

Also I'll add I bet she cheers against the other team when they a trying fouls shots especially in crucial situations. So just more bull from a celebrity who really knows nothing.

Here's KSR's take on this. I agree with them. If you are going to protest anything about Chik-fil-A then do it against them being closed on Sunday. I couldn't tell you how many times I would have gone there on a Sunday morning to get breakfast.

I had to rewind the game yesterday to make sure I heard the announcer correctly. Usually the promotions are for your team winning, hitting a certain number of points, etc. Aside from the objectively bizarre spectacle of a whole arena going ape over two missed free throws, it's just a weird choice to promote that kind of schadenfreude.

I actually enjoyed it when I was watching the game. I was sitting there like "why are they cheering so loud at this guy to miss this second free throw when we're up 30 points"?
Then the announcers explained why....

I was in Rupp Tuesday night and it was very loud during that promotion....as we left they were handing out the free tickets for the sandwich.....of course it was only good in Lexington so it didn't do me any good
