    Experimental rule for postseason play

I just learned today that in all postseason play except for the NCAA tournament, players get 6 fouls instead of 5.

If you want to see it in action, watch Morehead State in their best of 3 series against Nevada for the College Basketball Invitational championship in the next few days.

Is this rule change likely to be implemented in the college game?

I didn't know they were doing that. The six foul rule seems to be picking up steam. If it seemed to have worked out well in these tournaments then you may just see it in the next year or two.

In my opinion, using these games as a proving ground, for new rules, is a great idea.

I agree. Any new rule should be fully tested before it is put in on a permanent basis. Personally, unless there is a higher penalty for the sixth foul, it will lead to a much more physical play.

I agree with that. For the 6th foul it should be two shots and ball out of bounds. That might cut down on the rough play and players staying in with 5 fouls.

It has to continue to be important not to get fouls. I kinda liked the ABA rule, that gave the offended team 3 shots to make 2.
