    Basketball Question # 10.

    After team A is warned for delay for not having the court ready for play after the final horn that ended a timeout in the first half, which of the following subsequent types of delay by team A will result in a technical foul?

    A. Consuming a full minute by not being ready when it is time to start the second half.
    B. Repeatedly delaying the game by preventing the ball from being promptly put in play.
    C. Failure to have the court ready for play after the final horn to end any timeout.
    D. Attempting to gain advantage by interfering with the ball after a goal.
    E. Breaking the out-of-bounds plane with an arm before the ball is released during a throw-in by team B.
    F. Not being ready to resume play following the final horn to end a timeout.

    Where is everybody? I know this question can be confusing, but take a stab at the right answer, you might be right and I know you'll be surprised. This very rarely happens, but it is a rule.

        The correct answer to question # 10,

        is C for NCAA, and B, C, D & E for HS.

        RULE 4; Definitions.

        Section 10. Delay.
        Art. 1.
        A delay is any action that impedes the progress or continuity of the game. Such actions include, but are not limited to:
        b. Consuming a full minute by not being ready when it is time to start
        either half or any extra period
        d. Repeatedly delaying the game by preventing the ball from being
        promptly put into play, such as delaying the administration of a throwin
        or free throw by engaging in a team huddle anywhere on the playing
        court.
        e. Failure to have the court ready for play after the final horn to end any
        timeout (See Rule 10-2.5.c);
        f. Attempting to gain an advantage by interfering with the ball after a goal or by failing to immediately pass the ball to the nearest official after a
        whistle is blown.
        Art. 2. One team warning shall be given for each of the delays in Rule
        4-10.1.d through g Each warning shall be reported to the official scorer and recorded in the scorebook. Thereafter, a technical foul shall be assessed for the delay that has previously received a team warning.
