    Cats land transfer quarterback

Kentucky has landed a commitment from QB Cal Wither! The 6-foot-3, 213-pound signal-caller from Ontario, Canada originally entered the transfer portal in January and committed to Maryland in March, but has now chosen the Wildcats. Wither, a 3-star QB according to 247Sports, https://t.co/yaX8xLxkK7

Interesting considering how many QB's we have on the roster.

I've been curious about the number of quarterbacks as well. It seems that the guy from FAU may be doing the Beau Allen route of being on the roster essentially to learn for future coaching opportunities. Not sure where the Marshall guy fits in but he seems very Jalen Whitlock-ish. The addition of Wither seems to indicate Ponatoski is expected not to suit up.

Must be losing a little confidence that Ponatoski makes it to campus. I still think Ward is a very capable backup. but I think Stein wants a little more depth and insurance if Ponatoski decides to go the MLB route.

Totally agree. Ward seems to have had a good Spring and has impressed the staff. Could be coachspeak but I don't get that vibe yet from this group. But a third capable guy is a great thing to have.

Trublujr and I were sitting directly in front of the QB's at the Spring game during warm-ups and drills. Ward threw very tight and accurate passes while Minchey had receivers reaching. As things stand I feel confident in Ward as a backup.

Never felt Ponatoski would ever make it to campus.
