Man I thought he was a lock for UK. Didnt see the Oklahoma commitment coming. Hopefully they can still flip him.

Also lost a DB out of Lexington today. Recruiting has been very disappointing … so far. Let’s hope they can turn it up and turn it around.

I think the first class will be good, not great. New staffs usually have lost ground to try to make up. Stoops didn't help things by dragging his feet on letting UK off the hook plus I'd say his coaching staff knew they were gone and weren't doing any recruiting for UK.

Also, HS recruiting isn't nearly as important as it used to be. While I want top 30 or better classes each year, realistically, maybe only 1/3 will stick > 2 years which is when you start getting a significant amount of snaps for most players. Having the #5 HS recruiting class means nothing if they're gone to greener pastures before they contribute much here. In my mind, Stein has a much better story to tell recruits than Stoops did the last few years, so I would expect our HS recruiting will be about as it's been. If we show significant improvement on the field and play a more exciting brand of football, this staff could be much better at HS recruiting than Stoops' staff, especially at the end of his tenure.

Everything you all say is true, but we still just lost 2 or the top 5 or 6 HS kids in Kentucky, including #1. That’s tough to spin. But, it is early. Let’s hope for better things.

I like coach Stein more every time I read something about him. I love the part where he says he isn't going to beg players to play for UK.

I suspect we'll see Driver at UK at some point. It may not be his Freshman year, but there is still quite a bit of time to flip him before that anyway. He's still got a full year of HS football to go.
