Most people forget about Stone Saunders. He was a 4* out of high school as well. I believe he enrolled early and went through spring practice. He will be a true freshman this year.

Many thought it would be a battle between him and Boley for QB1, but Stoops continues to go to the Portal. It wouldn't surprise me if Saunders and/or Boley leave after this season due to lack of playing time.

Unfortunately, Stoops had to go into the portal to get a QB. Boley has talent, but very little experience. I personally don't think he will hold up a full season in th SEC. Suanders is just a true freshman, but has a bit more size than Boley. He was highly rated coming out of PA. I don't expect him to stick around unless he is given a good shot. I think barring a miracle season, Stoops will be gone after this year. It is huge buyout, but I don't think UK has a choice. Season ticket sales are down. Football is the money maker for college athletics. That moneys goes away, and it will hurt other sports.

Saunders is only 6'-1" tall and listed at 222, Boley is 6'-5" and listed at 220, so with them being about the same weight, Saunders is a little beefier due to the height difference. Saunders dad was a Strength and Conditioning coach in the pros, I believe, so Stone is pretty ripped from what little I've seen of him. I think his height is the biggest thing hindering him, but he broke some of Drew Brees' Pennsylvania HS records and Brees was short too. I've been curious to see how Saunders does.

As for the new recruit and us beating out Bama and the like, I think the baseball angle really helped as well as proximity to home for his parents who like to attend his games.
