Both Sea of Blue and KSR are reporting that UK received a commit from Lorenzo Cowan, a transfer edge from USC (west). Cowan had committed to UK while in high school before switching to USC.

Best I can tell we exited spring practice at 87. Since then eight have entered the portal and two have committed to transfer to UK. Thus a net of minus six. So 87-6=81.
However the 85 limit is likely to change due to the House settlement.
"The House v. NCAA settlement introduces new roster limits for college sports, replacing existing scholarship limits. This means schools can offer more scholarships, but the total number of players they can roster is capped. For example, FBS football teams will have a 105-player roster limit, potentially requiring them to cut walk-ons. The new rules also allow schools to offer a mix of full and partial scholarships."

Under current rules walk-ons do not count against the scholarship limit. Thus it's common to have more that 105 players on a P4 school roster. Under the proposed House settlement change, walk-ons would count against the 105 limit. Thus, for many school, the number of players on the roster will decrease not increase.Comment
