Kentucky has landed one of the best available players from the transfer portal.
On Saturday night, Washington State defensive lineman transfer David Gusta told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he has committed to the Wildcats. Gusta is ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman in the portal and the top available prospect at his position. He is currently in Lexington on an official visit.
“I like the coaching staff and d-line coach and I see what they’ve produced with guys like Deone Walker,†Gusta told On3 earlier this week. “Also the scheme is a good fit and I found out my uncles live near the campus so I’ll have family out there. And also the strength staff I’ve heard a lot of good things. They’re really good people out there.â€
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Gusta recorded 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and three pass breakups this past season for the Cougars. Texas A&M and Tennessee were also in the mix for the native of California. A redshirt senior, Gusta has one year of eligibility remaining.
