Boom: Top-Ranked Talent Javeon Campbell Commits to Kentucky

The 2025 Kentucky football recruiting class just keeps getting better and better. The Wildcats’ successful recruiting run continued on Tuesday when Javeon Campbell announced he is playing for his home state school.

A product of Frankfort’s Western Hills High School, the home of Wan’Dale Robinson, Campbell made a meteoric late rise through the recruiting ranks. A talented high school hoopster — he holds the school record for total points scored in a career — Campbell only recently picked up the sport of football.

Unheard of a year ago, the biggest brands in all of college football marveled at his size and athleticism. Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State issued early scholarship offers. Miami, Auburn, and Alabama all put on the full-court press to secure a commitment from Campbell. After taking official visits to those prestigious programs, his decision was clear.

Campbell turned down offers from the top programs in the country to play for Kentucky. He’s the top-ranked player in the state of Kentucky, a Top 20 defensive lineman, and the No. 167 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

He's light for a SEC DLineman, but I bet there's plenty room for some muscle.
