With spring semesters getting ready to start at numerous universities, college football programs had one final weekend to host potential mid-year transfers. After signing six players in the Early Signing Period, the Wildcats were able to get a big name on campus over the weekend.
Cats Illustrated‘s Justin Rowland is reporting that North Carolina defensive line transfer Keeshawn Silver was in Lexington over the weekend.
Silver (6-5, 315) was a five-star recruit in the class of 2021 who stayed home and signed with Mack Brown’s program. The blue-chip prospect has a reported seven-foot wingspan and had an outstanding junior season in 2019 at Rocky Mount (N.C.) High. However, high school football was not played in North Carolina in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Silver played in just five games over two years for Tar Heels. During his time in Chapel Hill, Silver played for two defensive coordinators.
