4-star Wade twins commit to Kentucky

What’s a better way to start the weekend than getting a couple of big-time Yahtzee’s?

This afternoon, Destin and Keaten Wade announced their commitment to the Kentucky Wildcats. They chose Kentucky over a final list of the Tennessee Volunteers, Louisville Cardinals and Virginia Cavaliers.

The Wade twins play their high school ball for Summit High School in Spring Hill (TN), which is just south of Nashville. They helped lead Summit to a 5A State Championship over Oak Ridge (TN) this past season.

Destin (6-3, 205 pounds) is currently ranked as a four-star prospect, according to 247 Sports Composite, and is ranked the 26th-best athlete in the country. Currently, he plays quarterback and defensive back for the Spartans, but he has been widely expected to be a defensive back at the collegiate level. Some rumblings have come out though that the staff is willing to give him a shot at quarterback as well.

Keaten (6-4, 223 pounds) is also considered a four-star prospect and ranked as the 188th best player in the country. He is also currently listed as the 16th-best outside linebacker. He currently plays running back and linebacker for Summit. Kentucky fans can fully expect him to be playing the jack linebacker position in Lexington.

I dropped by volnation. It's the usual prattle from a jilted lover. According to the Vol fans, the twins aren't any good, UT didn't really want them, etc.

Lol....sounds familiar. Unfortunately Vol Nation is still living in the Manning / Tee Martin years. We know what it feels like to be in rough shape, but we need to get to the place where Kentucky strings a line of wins against the vols the way they have against South Carolina.

Tennessee fans still think Alabama is their natural rival.

Mighty fine couple days.... four star athlete wanting a shot at quarterback and an edge rusher...who is also a four star.

Throw in a top 50 offensive tackle and this has been a mighty fine two day stretch for the Cats football team.

VERY encouraging, Goodwin as well, these are the type of wins in recruiting we NEED to get out of the middlin category of the SEC. As for worries about can we actually sign them, that’s where the regular season is so critical. Win games and look like an up and comer and it’s much harder for the Bama and LSU’s to cruise in at the last minute and say “Really”. FWIW 5-6 records are not “ up and comers”. We HAVE to have a better season to sustain this momentum.

This is why they quit recruiting Gavin Wimsatt

Wadebmay never play QB at UK but he has a higher upside
