Monday Quickies: Jager Burton Delays Decision

It appears one of Kentucky Football’s recruits is pushing back the announcement of his commitment. Jager Burton, a four-star offensive guard and Lexington native, took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon saying he will push his commitment to a program back from August 24th.

I guess I'm just a chronic worrier, but I find this to be unsettling.

Wouldn't count on him. And it seems a lotto the kids that string stuff along aren't quite what we expected. Whatever the coaches go for, I'm all in. They've earned some trust.

I'm really not sure why he wouldn't want to play at UK. When you look at the taken we've developed on the line and being in his back yard you would think it would be a no brainer. He recently put on Twitter he got a new truck and it's a blue Ford Raptor. Those things are like 60k if not more.

Perhaps for the same reason Jedrick Wills went to Bama (whatever that was).

That's a little bit different, IMO because our program was three years behind where it is now. It's easy to see a situation where we are consistently a top 15 team in the next few years. At that point, we are a win over Georgia from being in the SEC championship game, which gives us an outside chance at the playoffs. Another ten win season and we are dangerously close to really breaking this thing open. It wasn't as easy and realistic to visualize big time success when Wills came out of high school. We obviously aren't there yet, but we've certainly closed the gap between us and the top five programs.
