Damon Payne

Damon Payne is a top 30 recruit by (I believe) all major recruiting services and some have him as the number one defensive tackle in the country. We are in great shape with him. The work Stoops and his staff have done is something I never thought I would see at UK. He's from Michigan and currently listed at 6'4 295.

If we ran a traditional 4-3 he could fill the role well. Also, he just finished his junior year. At a minimum he's got another 12 months before he's on a college campus unless he's an early enrollee. He could easily pack on another 30-40 pounds in a year and a half. Especially once he gets inside a power five program with the facilities and staff. He might be good enough to not red shirt.

I didn't realize he was a Junior. What you say is entirely possible. I like the looks of this young man.
