    Rank by offers

Rank by Offers weights each player by the quantity and quality of scholarship offers they have received. It isn't a perfect system, but it is an interesting way to gauge recruits.

On the Rank by Offers site, Stanley Garner's commitment tonight should move Kentucky from having the #16 class in the country (#5 SEC) to #10 in the country (#4 SEC, passing Texas A&M). Ranked by average (that is, by the average quality of offers of each commit), Kentucky would remain at #20 nationally (#7 SEC). Of the 15 programs currently ranked ahead of Kentucky for the overall offer points for their class, Kentucky has a higher average per commit than UCLA, Virginia Tech and LSU (and is almost tied with Oklahoma), but there are some schools currently ranked behind Kentucky with smaller classes and higher averages. Georgia and Alabama have significantly higher averages and only 9 and 7 commitments respectively. Auburn, North Carolina, Southern Cal, Nebraska and Stanford also have better averages and smaller classes.

I don't follow football recruiting nearly as much as basketball but I try to keep up. One of the first things I look at is their offer sheet. So many times, and Garner is a perfect example, with all of the recruiting services there are you might see a difference in a few hundred spots in these kids.

Through Coach Stoops leadership, his staff is looking carefully at who they need to build the team they believe will win in the way they coach. I know this staff is working harder than any group of coaches we have ever had at Kentucky and we will continue to see the difference on the field. Wins and losses are important, but we will be competitive.

I've always been much more interested in a player's offer sheet than his star ranking.

I like the offer sheet system. Coaches often give offers when they see the unmeasurable in these players....leadership, work effort, attentiveness, the ability to listen, learn and be coached up....when you see the Georgia's, LSUs, Florida's etal offering a three star kid you might better start taking notice.

one thing about the offer sheet system is if a player commits early, and shuts down his recruiting, that hurts numbers. no system is fool proof. How many 4 stars all world offers had we come in and not pan out? And how many 2 star no other BCS offers had we come in and play big roles for us?

It looks like this site didn't renew its URL and has been taken over by a garbage squatter. Does anyone know if it is still maintained anywhere?
