Once you sign the LOI though, you're married. The only way to get out of that is if you're granted a divorce and many times that comes at a price.

Of course we should get excited when we get a commitment but don't go putting them on the depth chart. Then you're just setting yourself up for heartache.
    That is a great analogy.

If college football gets an early signing period, it will help the schools that are not the elites. They won't have to spend as much time and resources holding on to every recruit and it would free them up to concentrate on the holes they have left to fill.

I assume that the reason there isn't an early signing period is that it allows the big time programs more flexibility in who they ultimately take so they can optimize their roster. I don't think they worry much about losing commitments.

We got one back that we thought we lost. It's about time. It's refreshing to finally see a situation such as this one turn in our favor.

Don't forget about Denzel Ware. If memory serves, the same thing happened with him.

It did. I forgot about that one. Still, it seems we have found ourselves on the losing end more often than not. This guy is a huge pick up. I know it's high school film, but he seems so relaxed and poised in the pocket and he has a cannon for an arm.

Excellent! Surely that'll be the end of that. Decommit twice and you start to look a bit silly (except with coaching changes). Welcome back.
