If he takes the job, he better be able to recruit somewhere other than the north and northeast.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

Purdue is a tough job. IMO, they have significantly sub-par facilities and not a lot of support from the administration. The president of Purdue is Mitch Daniels, former governor of Indiana. He is very, very tight-fisted with the purse strings. While Purdue actually has a pretty rich history in football, they have not been competitive for several years now. It will be a long climb back. But, all that having been said, I hope whoever takes over the program will do a nice job.Comment

I'm surprised he didn't wait for the Indiana job... they are at least moving in a good direction.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them...he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.Originally posted by Robert “Hoot†GibsonNo matter how bad things may seem, you can always make them worse.Comment

I agree with you. The IU AD pushed the Easy Button if you ask me. If Tom Allen succeeds, the AD will look like a genius. If not, he's putting his employment at risk. Like I said above, IU is a tough job, probably even more difficult than UK.

bigblue4life -- No question. IU is a very tough job, and I think it is tougher than UK. But, I also think Wilson was slowly making a bit of progress. And, you are 100% right -- the AD did push the Easy Button. I think the opening calls for SOME kind of a search. Maybe you make Allen interim coach and allow him to apply for the opening. Maybe you even decide that he is indeed the best guy for the job and you eventually hire him as "the man." But to name him within hours -- or less -- of Wilson leaving just screams to me of laziness and a complete lack of commitment on the part of the administration.Comment

Purdue has had some fantastic QBs in their history who went on to the Big Show. Drew Brees was an alumn. I am sure Brohm's offense featuring the passing game factored into that. They want to get back to the way it used to be. The term Cradle of Quarterbacks has been trademarked by Purdue. A look at their list of star QBs and it's easy to see why.Last edited by Blue Heaven; 12-02-2016, 05:18 PM.Isaiah 5:20Comment

Personally, I would be surprised if Brohm took that job. He just doesn't seem to be the type that would go to a place like Purdue for the money.John 3:3
