I only saw part of this game. My take is the defense is just bad. It has never been good this year. The games they stopped people were because their offense was bad more than UK's defense was good. Defense has improved but it's still bad. Maybe gone from atrocious to just simply bad.

God help us against Jackson. If Dobbs can do what he did you can only imagine what Jackson will do.

UK rushes for over 400 yards. They said UK was the first FBS team this year to rush for over 400 yards and lose. Not winning is hard to do when you rush for 400+ yards. But leave it to UK football to do just that.

Go out and beat Austin Peay next and I will be satisfied. The goal this year was six wins and hopefully next week will accomplish that.

Well.....not just trying to defend the quarterback, but my goodness....the offense he is in charge of on the field gets the yardage AND points it does but gets boat raced on the scoreboard.....

I'm sorry guys, but KENTUCKYS issues are still on the defensive side of the ball. Sooner or later, you have GOT to make the stop.
      ah, well....on to APSU.

I doubt if we'll see Hoak this season. Coach Stoops isn't going to pull his RS now.

Congrats B_V. I predicted, before the season started, that UT would win the SEC East, and I'm sticking by that.

Yup. Which takes me back to the thread I started about still needing a new and proven defensive coordinator even if we get to six wins this year. Something has to be done to take us to the next level and it'll be the defense doing just that. The offense is clearly doing their part.

We played well on the field. Our heart was in this match but it didnt seem we played that strong like last time. On the other side of things you cant win them all so to look at it on a positive side we have won more than last season.

Actually, at this point, we've won the same number (five) as last season.

Not only are they 0-9, they've lost something like 26 in a row.

Yay!!! Something positive about football in the Bluegrass this morning. If you can call that a positive. Should be able to get #6.

I hate to see outmanned teams get hammered but, if we get a big lead, I hope coach clears the bench.

The Vols looked like a fresher team. Whether is was missed tackles or a lack of focus on assignments or dropped passes, the Georgia game seemed to me to have taken its toll on us physically and mentally. The defensive injuries during the game didn't help. The importance of Jones to our defense was more than a little noticeable after he was hurt. I hope we're able to clear our benches this next game. We need to heal and rest as much as we can for the last game. I agree Matt. I don't like to see outmanned teams get hammered either. I think we've made progress in what could have been a total disaster after our starting qb went down.

Pollyanna time for me. We are going to have a better record (fingers crossed) than last year with a less favorable schedule. I think the offense has made huge strides in improvement, especially in my favorite category....line play.

Anti Pollyanna time.....the defense is better....at least better than the first three games, but is so far behind the depth and raw talent level of the offense I'm concerned it may take two to three years to catch up.....by which time most of that improved offense will be gone.
Hoping to finish the season at least 1-1, then get that extra time for a bowl. AND perhaps a recruiting bump.

Quick note.....one group is predicting UK in the Liberty....against Boston College. ( before yesterday's game).

one of those love the irony games where Towles ends his career against his home school and UK sandwiches a season against a former offensive coordinator and the kid that stuck up for him.

Defense is this teams biggest problem, even with QB deficits we run well enough to sustain a decent SEC caliber offense. Need a new D coordinator PERIOD. We also need MUCH more talent on D line. The talent we do have like Elam, he needs to be told to lose 30-40 pounds or sit bench for rest of his career.
