Get over yourself. We all expected about six wins this year. That's what we will get. Johnson will grow from this year, the extra practices, and the bowl. There will be a competition for QB next year just like every year. We return virtually everyone on offense and will be a dangerous team no matter who the QB is.

No way we greatly improve with Johnson. He is what he is. You think he started playing qb this season? He has a slow wind release and has no touch on his balls. Why you think he can only throw deep balls? If he is the qb next season, don't expect anything different from this year. Proof is in the eyes man. I would really like to know what you are watching.

It's hard to imagine Hoak isn't in the game.

We aren't winning this game by putting in Hoak when we are down big. He hasn't taken one snap in college. There's absolutely no point in pulling his red shirt at this point of the season. We will go to a bowl.

We will agree to disagree. I am on no soap box. I just think that you have 2 young guys behind #15. So next week #15 goes down. Then you have no choice but to burn a redshirt. Where is the sense in that. Now you have 2 games with a QB that has never seen the field in a division 1 game. I stated earlier 4-4 sec (i will take it) 6-6 overall with a bowl game, i will take it. Glad we are better this year than last.

Johnson was in there because there's absolutely zero point in burning the red shirt on Hoak in a game we aren't going to win, on the road, this late in the season. He would get nothing from it, the team would get nothing from it, and the staff would get nothing from it. Literally the only thing that would happen would be him losing a year of eligibility.

As for the QB situation, Barker's injury has hamstrung us. You can't burn a redshirt for what's going to be a 6-win season unless you have absolutely no choice.

As crazy as it sounds, we win that game if our defense can tackle anybody, Josh Dobbs in particular.

Some times i guess it is easy to sit here a watch through the glass and say do this or that. Coaches are caught up in the middle of it. UT did run the Wildcat a couple of times today. I would have let my RB or WR run a few plays and shake hands.

I see your points on QB but man it is hard watching this. As a fan it is like watching a MLB team that is 30 games back just trying to get through the last few weeks of the season. My dad always told me if you are taking 100 guys to a fight make sure you use each and every one of them to the best of their abilities. Not sure we are doing that.

You have to balance using guys to the best of their abilities now vs the future of the program. Hoak is probably more accurate than Johnson, but not as mobile. Is it worth burning his red shirt this late in the season when we are down multiple scores in the 4th quarter? Or would you rather ride this out to a bowl game and have an extra year of eligibility for Hoak? Don't burn that RS this late unless you absolutely have no other choice.

The other thought that keeps creeping in my mind is this: Is the D giving up because they know we are not going to do much on offense. I mean you have to look at this as a whole. D plays hard for a half and gives up 3 big plays that cost us. The offense is running the ball but cannot do much from the 20 in. Not sure. what is going on with the D today. It just does not smell right.

So next year at QB, we have Barker, Johnson, Hoak, Woods and the new guy from Ohio to go along with the guy from UC and the walk on. No team keeps more than 2 legitimate QB's with 3rd back up. See transfers between bama / UF / FL St and other big time programs. So who stays and goes? They do have a redshirt but not sure we can keep all of these guys.

Spring football we will have Woods and the kid for Ohio / Hoak and Johnson / walk on and not sure if Barker will be back then or not.
