For all the people that just wanted to see improvement this year, we have it. There are a lot of similarities between this team and the 2006 team. The only difference IMO is we have better and more talent now.

The Badet play was a game changer no doubt. But I think the game was lost in the first half when we had to many dropped passes.

Another thing that bothered me about this game--and I'm sure this was discussed on this game thread--is how Musburger kept giving us play-by-play of the Alabama/LSU game while our game was on. That was highly unusual and I'm not sure if I've ever seen that. It's not like we all don't have high-powered cable and satellite packages. We can all flip over to see the score if we want to get it.

Musburger has always annoyed me as a commentator. There's something fake about him for some reason. A lot of these commentators are acting in certain ways, but Musburger always seems like he's the guy in the country club locker room who laughs at your story and slaps you on your back, but you can tell by the deadness in his eyes that he couldn't care less.

A score at half or at the end would have been fine but I agree. Focus on the game you are watching.

Agree about Musburger. He does a poor job of concealing his bias during games, and tends to exaggerate his flowery adjectives for the team or player he likes.

I completely agree about the LSU/Bama play by play. To be blunt, I got the impression that, if he had the choice, it would have been the game he was working.

I like Jessie Palmer, though. His color has always seemed fair, and he seems, IMO, to be able to appropriately acknowledge a player's, or team's, abilities, and also seems to do a fair job of framing their shortcomings.

Completely indeed. I agree with the cushion we were giving those guys. It seemed we were giving them at least 10 yards off the line. Eason had all day to throw as well. Outside of two Jordan Jones plays, we got zero QB pressure. If there is such a thing as being proud of a loss, this was it. Like Pobilly said, this season is setting us up for next season. I think we have 11 Seniors. Off the top of my head, the only one that will be sorely missed is Toth. For all the hand wringing during Stoops tenure, he has set us up nicely for the future. With that being said we need to find a competent QB. I like it that when everyone in the world knows we are gonna run it that it works regardless, but we need to incorporate the short throws and quite frankly Johnson has failed at that. After two games, if you told me we would be where we are now I would've said you were smoking the good stuff. This team is trending upwards big time.

The 12th guy got off the field. That call was bad. Also, I've seen officials mess up replays before, last night they were caught and had to do the review again. Yet another poor performance from the striped team.

Yea I didn't like that either. He certainly felt like he should be there instead of Lexington. I have always generally liked Musberger but there are times he can be annoying. Last night was one of those times.
