    Season on the line ahead

Vanderbilt, Missouri, Mississippi State. Then Georgia, followed by Austin Peay. Win four and it's bowl eligible. Win three, and you look at 5-7 again.Win two.......well, we will see.

I'm pretty excited to see how these next 5 go. Would be a great time for that running game to really come alive.
Wish that I was on ol Rocky Top

Brother V, I didn't know if your heart held up after the past two weeks. The Orange taking to sleeping thru the first halves?

If we play respectably, Vandy, Missouri and Austin Peay should be wins. In my opinion, Miss. St. is the other one we have to have. I can't see us beating UT, U of L or even UGa.

If we have improved I think if we try hard enough we should win the next 5, but realistically I doubt it. As long as we win more than our losses then its ending the season on a good note in a way.

I agree Matt. I think we definitely SHOULD win APSU.....and if the team plays the way it has as will get off the downslide against Vanderbilt. Missouri is a concern....they seem to have some fire now and then. I don't think we have more than a punchers chance against UT or UL.....both have outstanding teams this year. Of all schools, Georgia and it's stumbles OR Miss State are our best chances that I can see. And those last two are HUGE hurdles.

There's no chance, in my opinion, that we win the next five. The next five includes Miss St., UGa. and UT. I would not be at all surprised if UT beats us worse than Bama did.

As I prev. stated, if we beat Vandy, Missouri and Austin Peay, I believe bowl eligibility will hinge on beating Miss. St. I realize Ga. isn't the Ga. of old, but I believe, based on what I've seen of them this season, they will pose a bigger challenge than Miss. St.

We might have trouble filling Neyland due to cardiac arrest at this rate. It's been a fun couple of weeks. If they can put it all together the sky is the limit.

I wouldn't give up on a bowl trip with a loss to MSU. UGA is tough but I think they are going to be an up and down team this year, in a new system with a freshman QB. I could see a lot of scenarios where UK could compete in that game. Especially if that running game gets going strong. They've seen the best they'll see all year. Everything else looks a little bit more manageable after that.

One game at a time is all there is to do

I didn't hear of any significant injuries after yesterdays game, so if we continue the improvement of D and get some consistency from the offense, I believe we can win enough to go to a bowl. We have Vandy, UGA and MSU at home, and the Mizzou game is very winnable regardless.

I could be called too positive but I think this team is growing up. It's akin to that statement that a freshman who has played an entire season is no longer a freshman.
It's gradual but coaches are teachers and, we hope, they can lead these players to what they need to know. They study the video every week to correct mistakes.
A lot of our outstanding players are sophomores or redshirt sophomores. What does that mean? It means there is room to improve.

Theoretically, the path is there for a possible bowl.

They'll have to prove it to me, though.

The Vandy game will tell us everything we need to know. Win that one, and we've got a little momentum and things are still looking up. Lose it, and the season falls apart completely. Simple as that.

We need to start thinking positive and quit the hopeful thinking. Winners think, walk and act like champions. The only thing fans can control is our attitudes and thought process. We need to stop the hoping we can win, hoping we will play well, and start expecting to win each game. I bet Tenn players expected to beat Ga. as long as time was on the clock, they felt they had a shot! On the 15th when Bama comes to Knoxville, you won't hear" I hope we play well' you'll more likely hear" We'll send Bama home knowing they have been beat. With 20 sec. left and down 5, most BBN Basketball fans expect a win! We have conditioned ourselves for years that we will find a way to lose at football. This we can and must change, and eventually the players will find themselves surrounded by positive fans who expect nothing but a win. Expect more of someone and you will get more!

In years past, this team has come out flat and unfocused or just pooped the bed about half the time when the season was on the line.

I liked how we played against SC, I liked how we played for the most part at Bama. I want to see some focused intensity this weekend and a win.
