I've been saying for a month that Bama is going to have 1000 yards rushing in that one game.

Well as bad as it was to see the Cats lose to Florida, last time we beat them in football was Nov. 1986. So knowing that going into the game shows that most likely we was going to get beat by them. Dissapointing loss and maybe the season will get better from here, learn from the mistakes and take thoes improvements into the next games.

It's one thing to get beat, getting humiliated is something else entirely.

You have to look at the sport as well. Most sports are a low score bases while in football its a high score bases so when you look at the score yeah its like thats a very high score for them. If you look at past scores against them they was all bad.

Not exactly sure what this means.

We got killed Saturday. Watching that team was like watching probation-era Rich Brooks' teams.

I'm almost convinced at this point those early Brooks teams and the last Joker team could make a run at this one.

Its the beginning of the season, you cant look at it and say thats how our season will be. It was our rival and its a big deal but if it was against any other team we wouldnt be focused on it as must as we are. We would look at it and go well we got hammered but we can get it in the next match and learn from the mistakes.

Disagree. The fanbase would be focused on any performance that was as miserable as that.

It'd be crazy for us not to be. You can't apologize for that level of awfulness.

But is everyone forgetting its just the start of the season. Everyone is talking like its the middle or end of the seaon and we are this bad. Give them a break.

Stoops probably shouldn't have fostered hopes for the season (which includes all of it) by telling boosters and fans "Expect great things from this team this year".
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

This isn't basketball where you play 40 games. Football is only 12 games and the season can go to heck in a hurry. They have played two games and played very poorly in each one. In football you don't have turn around time. What you are early in the season is usually what you are late in the season. There are exceptions but usually not.

If the team has improved by year's end then we can reassess.

But we can't look at it now and say, "Well, it's just the beginning of the season, and they're not used to playing together."

This level of ineptitude shouldn't be happening in year four of a coach's tenure. Because the fact is, a lot of these guys are used to playing together. Heck, almost the entire offense was the same one we put on the field at the end of last season. That's the same offense that mustered two complete passes until Barker's exit Saturday.

It's always a big deal, to me, when we lose, rival or not.
