Tucker: Stoops’ nightmare comes true in Kentucky opener

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Shannon Dawson could’ve literally kicked Mark Stoops in the crotch Saturday night and been kinder to Kentucky’s football coach. What Dawson did instead, lighting up his former boss who badly needed it to go the other way, left Stoops in far worse shape.
With the Wildcats’ fan base in prove-it mode, UK opened Stoops’ fourth season with a 44-35 loss at home against Southern Miss. The final score doesn’t come close to conveying the misery within: a blown 25-point lead punctuated by Dawson – fired as the Cats’ offensive coordinator after last season – dancing beneath a Gatorade shower on the visiting sideline at Commonwealth Stadium.

Very true article. I'm not impressed with Dawson any more at southern Miss than I was at UK. This was a really, really bad loss.
Now....to be fair, teams have come back from bad losses. I think most of us had given up on Brooks crew after LSU demolished them. THAT team circled the wagons and got the saga of Woodson and company rolling. Seems like the Head Coach asked the simple question of aren't you guys tired of losing.....probably in quite a bit more salty manner.
    Perhaps lightning will strike twice.

You had better be right. I NEVER want to see a crowd like was at the infamous Vandy game where the stadium was virtually empty

If KY continues the longest active losing streak at FL this week and it's a rainy day for the NM St game, I fear attendance could be ugly.

Whether 0-2 or 1-1, I will be coming from New Jersey to support my Cats! Players on current team need our support, its not their fault we have endured many years of futility.

Thanks in advance for the fans who will be there. Rooting for a sports team is a fickle endeavor, but the Cats have jad a TON of support over the years. If we could just be a perrenial winner, the fan support would be through the roof. But fans don't want incompetence. We know better than that. This staff, or at least some on it, have PROVEN to be not up to snuff. Those that continue to shell out the dough and go to the games, man you guys have backbones of steel!
