Wasn't Appy State the program that took Michigan out a few years back when the Wolverines were considered top five material?

              Yes.

They looked like EKU smacking us around.

I'm sure we'll lose to them by 50.

I hope the Cats took note of this.

On a related note, So. Car. and Vandy both look to be beatable, if we bring our "A" game.

UL and Western were the only teams I saw that looked good, although Western struggled early and their kicking game is bad.

Looks like Tennessee is overrated. Even if Appy State is pretty good if Tennessee was as goo as they were supposed to be they should not have struggled that much to win. My bold prediction for this season is that no SEC team will make the four team playoff. The SEC was down somewhat last season and I think it may be more down this year. With the SEC East looking fairly medicore and Alabama in the west still looking for a QB the SEC may have a hard time getting a team into the playoffs.

Not sure how many saw the game and who just saw the score, but I stuck with that one all the way. My hatred of UT is almost as legendary as the one I have for UofL. It's close.

Appalachian St. wins the game if their kicker can kick. Missed extra point, missed field goal. That's the game.

And Tennessee fumbled the ball THREE TIMES, including the time in overtime, and jumped on it every time.

In short they got lucky. What amazed me is how conservative Butch Jones and his o-coordinator was. One deep ball the whole game and it went for a touchdown. Other than that it was pretty much one run after another, and it almost got them beat.

Agree about UT. I think Georgia will win the east. They should be able to score with anyone and I think Smart will greatly improve their defense. And the schedule worked out great for them. Get UT and Fla at home. Don't have to play Bama or LSU. Their road games are at South Carolina, at Missouri, at UK & at Ole Miss.

The Beast of the East looked, at times, like a kitten in a thunderstorm. The announcers were all pumped up talking about how good Tennessee was that I wasn't certain I was watching the same game. A missed extra point, a missed field goal, and a fortuitous bounce of that odd shaped ball determined the winner. Interesting game ... unless you are a Tennessee fan.
