Man I can almost smell the grass on the practice filed days past. Feel the sweat pouring out from under the helmet while stretching and warm ups. Then the first drill. Usually for the line the basic one on one hit drill or the shed the blocker drill. It was that first hit, hopefully you got someone that wanted to hit just as bad as you did. Just something to make the coaches look to see what is going on this early, giving you that "it's a long season, calm down a little" speech.
If you only knew the amount of pain you would have later in life you would understand what that old guy was talking about. Man at 18-22 you owned the world. Hope these guys love every second, every sound, every pain and all the glory!!!!
