LEXINGTON, Ky. – In the modern era of near-constant coaching turnover, Eddie Gran’s 10 years on Tommy Tuberville’s Auburn staff from 1998 to 2008 is all the more remarkable.
It’s that experience that helps Gran, UK’s new offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, have faith of a similar period of prolonged success at Kentucky.
“I spent 10 years at Auburn – 10 of the best years of my life,†Gran said. “I’m a roots guy. I loved the small town, and that’s what Lexington brings.â€
Gran makes no secret of his desire to be a head coach one day, but he also said he would be fine staying at Kentucky long-term.
“I can see myself in Lexington,†he said. “If they want to sign me to a 10-year deal right now, I’ll sign it. That’s no joke. You got to build.â€
