Does Alabama and Clemson? Bama has a guy doing TEs and special teams. Clemson's guy does three things.
Is this meaningfully different than what we do?

No matter how bad things may seem, you can always make them worse.
Both teams had named special teams coaches but it seems folks only remember the good special teams plays.
Alabama's ST's Coach didn't keep them from nearly calling a TO on an FG/extra point for having 10 men on the field
Nor did they stop a Clemson KO return until it consumed 43 yards
bama punts of only 36 & 38 yards
Clemson missed a 44 yd FG
Clemson allowed a FG to be blocked
Clemson allowed KO returns of 39 & 95 yards
Clemson had punts of only 36, 34, 34 & one of 40 which rolled into the endzone
Clemson didn't return 4 punts and allowed a punt to roll 57 yards
and no one could argue that any of the failings was due to lack of talented athletes.

And dont forget the onside kick.Great call by Bama. But Clemson looked like they had no idea that could even happen.

That's correct. Most but not all of the time a good play on ST is the result of a bad play on ST by the opponent. The thing about the bama-Clempson game is that they are chock full of athletes so it's not like they have to run suspect players out there on ST and as stated previously, both teams had guys named as their special teams coach. Point being, maybe too much is made out of that tempest in a teacup.
Bottom line, take care of everything else, and special teams gaffs won't stand out so bad.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.
