    What's Going On

Why such a lack of discussion fellow WCN'ers? Is everyone so down, on the team, that they have no interest in posting, or maybe a lot of people are still in shock that we lost to Vandy?

I think no one has anything positive to say! Just flat out depressing I agree with a post about writing on the wall was our struggles with ULL and EKU, SEC teams don't struggle with those teams! A win against UF or Auburn maybe we would have been different. Now I feel we are afraid of losing instead of fighting to win! 2 changes on this team besides recruits, were OC and Linebackers coach. Can't help but feel there is problems with them, as we are not the same team we were last year.

Apathy is setting in. We have been here and done that before. Same old UK football. Also I''m not so sure there will be that much more interest if UK wins their last two games. I kinda get the feeling that going to the Weed Eater Bowl in Shreveport Louisiana isn't going to be exciting to the overall fan base.

I just think most fans are done. I know I am. Sure I will watch, but I have no hope for this program as long as this staff is calling the shots. This is all really shocking. I had a THICK pair of Big Blue Goggles on. It took Saturday for me to take therm off to see that the problems this season has less to do with the players and more to do with our coaching. And my oh my what horrible coaching it is.

Really don't know what to say. This year has been baffling (is that a word?). And now a non conference game at night. Not a good thing for fans Saturday. It is going to be cold too. Better be dry or I'll be sitting in the club section

I wouldn't say I'm down on the team; I'm more down on the program-again. I've been watching this movie since Charlie Bradshaw and Stoll Field. I doubt if this year's ending is any different with Mark Stoops at Commonwealth Stadium.

Actually, the VU loss was not too shocking given the downward trajectory of this year and last.

Deeds not words. Sooner or later, the Cats need to win some SEC games that matter. They had great opportunities this year but ....... .

If they beat a rising UofL team, I think that eases a lot of the negativity. 6 wins is an improvement over last year and gets A bowl. Losing 5 in a row stings, but less so if we get 6 wins. If the last game of the season was akin to playing a Charlotte, then 6 wins won't feel as good.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I'm not an insider, but it appears to me coaching is the biggest problem. On paper, I can't remember many times UK has had more talent. It just seems they should be doing better, to me. I'm afraid we're going to see a repeat of last year, and lose some of our commits as a result of this debacle. I'd say if coach Stoops has aspirations to be here long term, he better make several changes during the off season, one of them being to find a good ST's coach.

I don't know what to say. Don't want to dwell in the misery. I'm not depressed about our defense. Our offense is a mess. Seems like we keep doing the same thing over and over again and have the same outcome over and over again. It's already been said. If you don't have time for the long ball, throw short and intermediate routes. Get the tight end involved. Nope. I kinda threw up my hands when Barker was taken out. I understand he threw a pick 6. But there was an undeniable spark on the offense for whatever reason. I think there is a disconnect between Stoops and Dawson. Dawson wanted to go with the "hot hand" - and that obviously was Barker. But "we" decided on experience. No, "we" didn't. Stoops did. Our experience of going with experience hasn't been a very good experience. Please put in Barker and if he can't move the team consistently try Reese, and if Reese can't get it done then put in a WR at QB. We can't keep doing the same thing and expect to have a different outcome. 1 + 1 equals 2 from a base of 10. You can't make it equal 3 no matter how much you want it to equal 3, or how hard you try to make it equal 3. Ok, I could be totally wrong. Now I'm rambling so the game is still in my head.

If coach Stoops is going to help his coordinators, he needs to help his buddy, Eliot, since defense is his (Stoops) specialty.

I think people are just over it. People (including me) bought into all the Stoop hype and the "Why not" and it has all turned out to be a bunch of nonsense. Fans got excited and thought things were changing (they are not) and then when they realized it's the same old UK football program they tuned out. The crowd at the Charlotte game will be pathetic and I would not be surprised to see a HUGE amount of UL fans at that game.

"If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything".....BUT, since you brought it up. I'm shocked and shaken by Stoops and a good number of his staff. Saying our team is poorly coached is being kind. Guys and gals, when I played FB in the 8th freaking grade, we were taught to line up for kicks. It's really easy. What on God's green earth is UK's problem? Right, they don't have a ST coach. Brilliant!!!!! With his pedigree I sure expected Stoops to have a handle on situational FB, and coach accordingly. Wrong again. I've watched UK for a really long time, and my expectations of Stoops appear to be mis-placed. I was hopeful that we all would see improvements, not necessarily in year one, but our team is worse now than Stoops first year. I'm not going to drag this on, but he better get his $hit together or him and the program are gonna have BIG, BIG, problems. He needs to go to The Mount, and come back ready to take corrective action or we're SOL. The status quo isn't cutting it. Nothing could be more clear IMHO.
