If Kentucky could land Richt, I believe it would be worth renegotiating Cals salary to put MORE in the football coach bucket. I know Richt hasn't brought home that national to the dogs...but the man has brought in talent year in and out and Georgia normally has only one or two oh shucks games a year. Not a possibility for UK now though...too many HUGE teams already looking for a coach and I wouldn't be surprised if a long horned university might just jump in there.

Is it possible UGA firing Richt at this point is equal to UTK firing Fat Phil causing a lame short term future?

I really don't think UGA could do better than Richt. He has a 141-51 career record. He has won the SEC twice. Been to the SEC championship game two other times. Just last season he was 10-3. My goodness, what more could he do. I suppose after being there for 13 years he may have worn out his welcome. I would welcome him at Kentucky that's for sure. If UGA fires him they will probably go down the same road Tennessee has and be a struggling program for a few years and who knows may never get back to this level.

          Kentucky fan since 1971.

As has been previously stated, by all accounts, coach Richt is a decent person. I also believe he is a good fb coach, in the right setting. I'm not sure UK is the right setting for him. As the saying goes "it's not the x's and o's, but the Jimmies and Joes". I don't know how many coaches could duplicate what coach Stoops has done here, in the recruiting arena.

That's true, Richt may not get the athletes at UK that he has at UGA. But he has done well with the ones he has gotten. That part is very unproven about Stoops.

I can't tell you the times, last season and this one, that I've wondered what a quality, veteran coach could have done with the talent on this team. As I've previously stated, I've been following UK sports since 1954, and I can't remember very many times the fb team has had this much talent, at least on paper.

Absolutely, I've been telling the dog fans down here exactly that for years. It might not be as bad though. UGA is a prime job with the ease that is recruiting in this state. They'd have their pick and not have to deal with a Dooley Jr. But that doesn't mean there's anyone else out there at the moment that would be better than Richt

I hope Georgia rethinks firing Richt. You're probably not going to get a better coach and a better person than him.

Some folks on here never cease to amaze me. We have an energetic Coach who genuinely is working very hard to build Kentucky Football into a SEC competitive program. I would imagine he recognizes he has some studying and learning to do to become the HC is wants to be, and I bet he's not satisfied with his assistants, but he has our best interest at heart. And, even though Coach Richt is still the Coach at UGA, some are already replacing CS with Richt. WOW!!!!!!

We do have some talent on this team. But we are so young I'm not sure many of them have started shaving yet. How many freshmen are starting? Inconsistency is what you get. I sure hope we can pull it together Saturday. Richt is a class act, but I'm not worried or concerned with what is going on there.

This is our microwave society. UK, at this present moment, has no business competing for the top spots in the SEC. Walls go up brick by brick by brick. Beating Mizzou was a brick. Beating South Carolina was a brick. Getting to 6 wins and going to a bowl game is a brick. I don't care who the wins are against, I just want to see six wins and a bowl game. Anything less would be a huge disappointment.

Anybody wanting Stoops to be gone is being illogical. But I will say that it's time to start seeing adjustments from him where even the casual fan can say, "Oh, I see they're trying to do something to get through this."

Richt is as good of coach as there is. Who would GA think they could get, that improves their position? He and Stoops are fighting the same things right now, high expectations, a QB that is not producing, and injuries! I think Richt will be there next year unless he says I don't need this and leaves on his own terms. At any rate UK needs to not be concerned with the GA problems, we have enough to deal with!

I can't think of an SEC coach who has done less with more.
