Kentucky has a Top 3 Offensive Line according to CBS Sports

Kentucky Football developed a reputation for strong offensive line play under the late, great John Schlarman during the Mark Stoops era. The Big Blue Wall crumbled a bit in recent years, but Will Stein made rebuilding it a priority when he took over in December. Those efforts have not gone unnoticed.

CBS Sports’ Blake Brockermeyer ranked the top ten offensive lines going into the 2026 season. Kentucky not only made that list but is in the top three, coming in third behind Georgia and Ohio State. I hear those teams are pretty good. Brockermeyer loves the unit’s upside, which could pave the way for Kenny Minchey and the Cats in Stein’s first season. Even though most of the line was built from the transfer portal, he started his praise with a returning player: junior Malachi Wood, whom he expects to start at right tackle.

Top 3 kinda feels like a stretch. But man o man…if he’s right…we’re in for a fun ride!

There's definitely some talent in that room.

After the last few years, I'd take top 3 in the SEC. Top 3 in the country seems way too high. We lost all 5 starters from a decent OL and, to my recollection, not many of the returnees played significant snaps. We were very effective in the portal and landed some good players. Still to be determined if they jell, communicate, create a push, etc. I hope the prediction is accurate, but I'm trying to avoid getting sucked into the hype before I see them play a few games.

We got Lance Heard, one of the best left tackles in the SEC last year and Colton Price the best center in the country. Plus a couple other highly rated linemen. Stein went after the OL in the portal.

The talent is definitely there and while concerns about chemistry and cohesiveness are usually present with so many new players, I don't feel there will be any problems in this area.
