While we evidently had no answer for Tebow and the UF offense, UK's offense drove up and down the field on Florida all day and scored 37 points. It's about a 6 minute highlight reel on YT. What struck me was how we utilized swing passes to the backs and middle screens to backs, wideouts and Tamme/TE throughout the game. I have wondered whatever happened to our screen game (NOT the bubble screen on 3rd-and-11 with no blockers in front). I remember it was 'Joker's' offense, which seemed to require a QB with a PhD in nuclear physics to run, but, boy, it worked when Woodson was throwing to a bevy of really good receivers. I sincerely hope that Stein's offense includes the screens and swing passes that I think we could/should have used more the past few years. Especially with a porous OL as in '24, it seemed pretty obvious to throw some quick swing passes and avoid the QB taking hits vs throwing bombs every series that Hamdan, for some reason, kept calling. Or the middle screens so prominent in that video. I mean, in 2024, the DL was going to be in the QB's face immediately anyway, why not call a play that WANTS them to make deep penetration? Too logical, I guess.
