Saw an article with a few X comments how JB was being noticed very favorably during the Shrine Bowl practices.
I'd love to see how he graded out this past season - I would expect pretty well. His FR season was unexpectedly very solid and I believe pretty much everyone from the staff to the average fan expected big things from him after his FR season. SO season was NOT good - a lot of whiffs, penalties, being overpowered, etc. Many fans were wondering why he was still in the starting lineup, me included. JR season started with him at C and that experiment fell apart rather quickly. Snaps were not consistent, calling the blocking assignments was terrible at times, still prone to being overpowered, etc. He was moved back to OG but didn't really distinguish himself the remainder of the season except, perhaps, not making as many obvious mistakes. SR season he was back at C and, to my surprise at least, played very solidly throughout the season. Snaps were spot on, seemed to consistently have a lot more Ok-to-good plays than OMG-that's-bad plays. The OL performed better last season and, while there were certainly lapses due to stunts and creative blitzes, the line performed much better than in '24 by a significant margin in my estimation which makes me believe he was much better at calling out the blocking assignments.
He was always touted as being very athletic, strong, quick and his underperformance for a couple of years was inexplicable. It does seem like he righted the ship for his SR season. And, now he's being looked at a late 2nd day or 3rd day NFL draftee. Good for him.
