Coaches are pushing a rule to allow players up to nine games and retain a redshirt year. That just doesn't make a bit of sense. If you play more than half the season, you played, it should count. now I would say if a kid plays more than four, but half or less games and is injured, they should be able to qualify for a medical redshirt and get that year back. or just do away with redshirts and give kids five years altogether."It don't make much sense that common sense don't make no sense no more" John Prine -
But, but, but.....that's not fair! They should be allowed to play as many years as they want to. And for as many teams/schools. :-)Comment

It's ridiculous the number of players that are playing for their 3rd (sometimes 4th!) team. Certainly, having the COVID year affected that, but, still. The whole notion of 'student' athlete is even more of a joke than it was only a few years ago.
I'd be in favor of:
1. One 'free' transfer (exception: HC leaves) without any restrictions
2. Either transfer stays a minimum of 2 years, OR
2a. transfer must sit out a year to transfer a 2nd time
This unlimited FA who can transfer any number of times with no restrictions is unsustainable and, I believe, ultimately harmful to the player. Spend 4+ years transferring from school to school has to mean that the individual basically has a very limited college education and, as we've seen with many examples previously, even a few million can be squandered very quickly when 'managed' poorly.Comment

I agree with your points. I also think that rules need to be put in place to protect teams much like the NFL. Tampering should be a big thing in college. It's ridiculous the number of players that are playing for their 3rd (sometimes 4th!) team. Certainly, having the COVID year affected that, but, still. Unfortunately, without a collective bargaining group to represent the players the counts would, almost certainly, strike it down. It's ridiculous the number of players that are playing for their 3rd (sometimes 4th!) team.
