Perhaps I'm an eternal optimist but I have a good feeling about Stein & co. ?

I like that he is young and hungry to make a name for himself. i definitely think he does, but the question will be, if he does, will he leave for a bigger name down the road..

Hopefully his growing up a Cats fan and Still being one despite playing for UofL, I like to hope that if he takes us to new heights or even gets us back in the 10 win range that being close to home and family might sway any decision to leave. Or at least he would be very picky about which job he ultimately leaves for. It's why I liked him over Hartline.

For the amount of money we were paying Stoops I would certainly hope that if Stein succeeds at UK that we would pony up the money to keep him. I mean good gosh Stoops was one of the highest paid coaches in Football to produce mediocre results.

you mean we didn't get top 10 results based on coaches pay, lol.. hopefully way down the line, we have an AD that will do what needs to be done.. Fingers crossed anyway..
i do think Stein has somehow generated some excitement with the portal haul, i'm just hoping he can coach like he can recruit..

I’m optimistic so far. I’m not sure if we’ll ever quite be annual championship threats, but I do think it’s achievable to have some winning records in conference, be competitive in marquee games with some wins against top ranked opponents, and occasionally contend for the playoffs in our best years, which would be all be definite improvement for us. We won’t know for sure until the games are played, but Stein seems to be starting with some good momentum.

Stoops took us from way down to the upper class of the lower class of the SEC (so a little higher). I think as long as the money is there to spend and Stein has a good first year (does not have to be great) but good, then players will look at us no different than anyone else.

When there is the will, there is a way. And when there is a Will Stein, there's definitely a way!

I'm going to listen to Josh Pate on this and say yes. Pate thinks Stein could have us in the playoffs in a couple of years.
