    Dowdell went to Georgia. Really?

He was a decent pickup for UK and did pretty well as we used him. But, he was RB2 at UK and Georgia seems to have 4- and 5-star players at nearly every position. Doesn't that surprise anyone other than me? Georgia couldn't do better? I can't imagine he'll be RB1 and, without looking at their roster, I'd be surprised if he's going to be RB2. Maybe he'll be the short yardage specialist but that's a very limited role. If he stays, we may not have landed the 2 RBs we signed, so he would presumably gotten the same or more carries as he did this past year. I'll be surprised if he sees the ball that much at Georgia assuming few injuries.

I saw where Gilmore committed and then de-committed from UofL and committed to Baylor. He certainly showed flashes at times but was never the go-to guy last year. The flips and flops and being dismissed at NE - a huge red flag for me. While he could be a talent, I'm pretty OK with him moving on, especially after he jilted UofL at the altar.

Strey signed at LSU, following Wolford, that POS, back-stabber who is, once again, poaching players from UK. I know it's the portal so not as egregious as when he went to Bama, but still don't respect that guy at all. For all his 'reputation' about a great recruiter, I wasn't impressed by the numbers or quality of the OL signees while he was here (maybe he was instrumental in landing transfers - I don't know). His OL coaching was lacking for sure. Never learned how to pick up creative blitzes and stunts by the defense and that's lack of coaching. Never developed much/any depth so we had to pretty much start from scratch from year to year. Strey was mentioned as a really strong prospect - somewhat surprised he went to LSU, most likely to sit the bench at least for a year, imo.

I'll be interested to see how Cutter does at ASU. Don't wish any bad luck on him, but I'm of two minds on Boley. I think he could continue to improve and be an above-average (possibly even really good) P4 QB for the Sun Devils. I also think he could be exposed as a guy who is not great at anything: arm strength, mobility, decision making, reading defenses, avoiding high risk throws, etc. I do believe that, had he stayed, Stein could've made him better. But, the system may not have been to his liking.

Dowdell is a back that can get you a couple of yards when you have to have it. He also started showing some shiftiness later in the year. I don't know if he will be an ever down back there but I wouldn't necessarily be surprised either. I think he dealt with some injuries his only year at UK.

Everybody is fighting to add depth pieces now, even programs like Georgia. Dowdell isn't a feature back, but he has a lot of experience and is a proven commodity. You know what you're gonna get from him.

Not sure how many touches he's going to get at Georgia per game. I guess it came down to the $$$.

UGA will have an offensive line for Dowdell to run behind. Something UK hasn't had under Stoops for the last couple of years. Glad to see Stein and co. put such an emphasis on getting high level OL from the portal.
