QB update. Looks like Notre Dame QB Kenny Minchey will be a CAT.

Stein has evidently moved on with Leavitt (since he is right now visiting LSU). Minchey had pledged to play for Nebraska yesterday. Stein swooped in and talked him into playing for UK. He is the 10th best QB in the portal so not the home run guy. He was a 4* out of high school and top 200 recruit.

In 2025 he was 11 of 12 passing for 130 yards 0 TD 0 INT ran 3 times for 19 yards. I guess Stien sees something in this guy that he can turn into a good QB. I guess we will see.

My guess is that he probably recruited him back in HS. Being a top 200 prospect 4* QB. He is probably going on that, I guess???

He was Top 100 as a high schooler at Hendersonville,
TN., and in mop up duty he is 24 of 28.

More highly ranked than Boley both as a HS recruit and a Transfer by 247.

Stein has a record with mobile QB’s who
        aee not 6’ 5” statues.

A quick video search of Minchey will show why he was 11 of 12 or 24 of 28....a whole lotta dink and dump 5 to 10 yard passes...West coast offense at its finest.

I guess Stein must have gotten a hard no from Leavitt on his way out of town, though.... I mean, not even 24 hours after he leaves and Stein signs Minchey the very next day???

Seems like a good fit ,I trust stein, after the last regime handling of qbs . We need to stay optimistic, nothing can be worst than what we experienced under stoops qbs and his ocs . Kenny is a rs soph too that's cool ?

Until Leavitt commits somewhere else, I think there's a chance he still ends up here.

Sure.... and if I bought a lottery ticket there's a chance I could win the Powerball jackpot. Wouldn't say the chances are very good, though (LOL)

Same here. I would have thought that Stein would have waited for a hard commitment from Leavitt, here or elsewhere, before signing "the next guy". At the very least, I would have thought he would have waited a few days. Apparently the new thing to do is exhibit pride and move on if someone doesn't jump at the opportunity. I was always told pride was a sin, but hey...it's a "new world" (sigh)

I bet Stoops is laughing. We get rid of Cutter and get someone that’s been on the bench. LOL

He’s at least around 4million plus. Forget it, he’s not coming to UK

Here is where the other QB's that played under Stein at Oregon were ranked in the portal among QB's:

                          2023 starting QB - Bo Nix - 18th ranked QB in 2022 - PAC12 offensive POY in 2023
                          2024 starting QB - Dillon Gabriel - 12th ranked QB in 2024 - 1st team all-american in his 1 year at Oregon
                          2025 starting QB - Dante Moore - 3rd ranked QB in 2024 - 3rd team all BIG

I feel pretty good that he can make Minchey successful.

I'm going to make a prediction. Minchey will be better this coming season than Boley was last season.

Once he went to LSU, for a visit, I thought it was all over for us. Love him, or hate him, Kiffin can flat out recruit plus you factor in LSU's atmosphere, tradition and financial resources and they're very difficult to out recruit.
