Leavitt entered the Portal with a do-not-contact tag. Normally that means a player already knows where he wants to go. Stein and Leavitt met Friay night and watched film until midnight.

KSR also reporting DeAndre Moore WR out of Texas skipped his trip to Ole Miss to meet with Stein last night as well with Leavitt. Stein is getting the better portal guys on campus quickly. Lets hope UK and Stein can close the deal. For offense it will really be what OLINE along with the Athletes. Defense as well has several needs. Hope we see some guys start signing so we can maybe get a tidal wave of players on board.

Word is KY offered Leavitt $4.1 million. I wouldn't be surprised if that is accurate since he is the number 1 QB in the portal.

Let me add this, glad we have a coach who is at least working on getting a real QB here instead of picking over the leftovers.

God I hope coach stein can straighten our football team and make it fun to be a fan again . Hard to be a UK fan right now when our football and basketball teams are a disaster . My guess after next year we will be looking for a new basketball coach

Leavitt is now in day 2 of the visit. Guessing it is going well. We will have to see how this one ends.

I think Leavitt is their 2nd pick as one report shows. They want another guy and might be using this visit to try and close their number 1. If Leavitt is the main top dog overall Portal QB not sure that is a true statement. Texas Tech has more money than UK, Louisville, UC and Indiana combined. Oil money. So if they really want the guy it will be hard for him to turn it down.

So, let me get this straight - we let Boley walk (ASU offering stupid money, imo) so we can buy Leavitt for a year (I know he has 2 remaining but it will be a miracle if he stays two years) for >$4M? And, if we land him, which I don't doubt he's > Boley, do we have enough NIL money to buy 5+ OL, 2+ RBs, 2+ WRs, 2+ DL, 1+ LB and 2+ DBs? If we have to go cheap on the OL, just how good can Leavitt be?

This 'system' (which is, imo, no system at all) is completely out of hand.

Leavitt said at his presser when announce as UK coach was that UK has plenty of money in NIL to get the roster right. I am guessing Stein can add and subtract. He is going after the top WR / QB / OLINE / RB and DLINE guys out there. I would think he would not want to look bad by offering these guys and not being able to pay up. At least I hope that our new Head Coach has the backing to do so. Otherwise these guys would not waste time coming to visit.

As for Leavitt vs Boley, hate to compare but if you want to go by history of the 2, Leavitt is much greater than Boley. He lead his team to the playoffs and such. This is his first roster moves as a HC. It will be hard but lets wait and see what he can and cannot do. He could be in as deep of water as Pope is right now, and not know anything about building an SEC roster. He might be the flash of lightning that IU has gotten. Only time will tell for sure.

At first, I shared some of Jaxcat's concerns but I now feel more confident that Stein knows exactly what he's doing. I'd say that Stoops leaving caused some deep pocket donors that want a competitive fb program to loosen their purse strings.

He may be the greatest kid in the world but question his judge of character. He wants to play for Kiffin. That’s enough said for me.
