    Watching Oregon's offense

In general, I like it. They sure like to throw those quick screens that I absolutely grew to hate when we'd do it. They will push the ball down the field, though. QB looks like he's very well-schooled on going through progressions and hitting the safety valve receiver for solid gains. Physical running game.

Not sure about going for it on 4th down as often as they have today, but it is a playoff game. Might end up biting them as they've left at least 2 FGs on the field.

Like what I see. I don't like sideways plays, especially with the speed Texas Tech has but with TT basically shutting down the middle you have to try something.

I like his trust and development in his QB's (not just based on this game) and getting the ball in the hands of your play makers. What's been so fascinating to me is that many of the best programs don't play fast anymore. If you look at seconds per play, or pace of play, out of 136 FBS teams, Ohio State is 135, Miami is 130, Indiana is 127, UGA is 115, Texas A&M is 106, Oregon is 102 and Bama is 99. That's 7 of the 10 Power 4 teams that made the payoffs in the bottom 3rd of pace of play. The other 2 are Ole Miss at 19 and Texas Tech at 22. Kentucky came in at 74.

I'm afraid some of our fans will think of the old Chip Kelly, Mark Helfrich days and not realize it's not a fast offense, but it's a really deliberate and creative offense that gets the ball in the right guys hands.

I know we are interested in the offense, but I hope he can bring that defense with him also.

Both of these teams would totally destroy UK that we’ve seen recently.

Oregon advances. Mostly on the strength of the defense, but the offense looked pretty good.

Oregon looked very solid in all phases today. Tech's D was pretty good, but the offense was lifeless.

I hadn't watched much of their games so didn't really know what to expect. Not quite like the B12 of old (all offense and no defense), but, today, the result was the same.

Going for it on 4th down didn't hurt them today, but it's not always a bad thing to punt the opponent deep and make them drive 90 yards once in a while. Especially when your D is dominating. But Lanning is a good coach so who am I to question?

I thought it was interesting that stein was on the sidelines versus in a coach's box above the field. I wonder if that is his preferred method and will it be the case at UK. I always thought the OC should be on the field to be able to talk to the team when on the sideline.

As the head coach at UK, I can't imagine he would not be on the field. His OC might be in the box above. Even then, seems like most OCs are on the field with another assistant in the box.

As head coach, he will be on the sideline. Most OC's call plays from the booth as they can see the whole field. I just thought it was different seeing him on th4 sideline.

Well, they're both playoff teams and UK was 5-7 so, I'd say you're right.
