    Sumrall

Play the big boys and this is the result. Can he win at Florida? UK made a better choice.

He will have more talent at Florida. Doesn’t mean he will succeed though.

Going to be an extremely hard 2026 season.

I am very well satisfied with the Will Stein hire. That being said, how well do you think he would have done coaching that Tulane team at Ole Miss team at their place today? A truly ridiculous take you had there.

I figure anyone couldn’t do any worse. I really feel for the guy. Florida is a brutal place to coach. I prefer Will because the expectations are not as high for instant results. I’m figuring Sumrall got $9 million or so, how much did Will get?

I don’t figure it’s ridiculous whatsoever, Tulane made the playoffs. They got blown out completely. Could have been let down since he’s leaving. It’s big boy time now and no excuses will pass the Florida test.

I don't think very many non-partisans expected Tulane to win and I don't know what effect this had on Sumrall's coaching, but his dad passed away a couple of days ago.

              “ . . . .Tulane made the playoffs . . . . “

              What was the rest, again?

Judging him based on Tulane's game against Ole Miss is a bad take. It just is.

Tulane made the playoffs based on a technicality and not because they were one of the best 12 teams in the nation. Will he be successful at Florida? who knows. Will Stein be successful at UK? who knows. But using Tulane getting blown out by Ole Miss as a reason he won't succeed is way off base.

Never judged him, never said he had no chance. Just pointing out that it’s the big boy league now. I have more faith that Will will do more with less. I don’t have that feeling with Sumrall. I would wish him well but Florida is on my bad list. I’d root for even U of L over them. I lived in Florida once and their fans are as arrogant as Tennessee fans are.

Sumrall has won in every league he's been in. I don't know why that success wouldn't translate to Florida.

I guess the question isn't whether or not he'll win at Fl., but will he win enough to keep the Gator faithful off his back?

10-2 or better every year. Suicidal position with 9 sec games and Miami and FSU on the schedule.

His worst year was his first year at Tulane at 9-5. Every other year he’s been 10-2 or better. Will he do it every year? Probably not but guys like Kirby Smart and Kiffin are winning at pretty high clips and Florida has every resource that those guys are going to have.

Surely, FL won't keep both FSU and Miami as annual opponents. If I had to guess, they might play one of them every other year and have two cupcakes. As you said, it would be suicidal to have, in most years, 11 tough games every season.

I checked their 2026 and 2027 schedules. They play FSU both years along with two non P4 teams.
