    Hamdan to Miss St

As Assistant Head Coach for Offense, which is a lot of words that mean what? According to KSR, HC Luby will still call the plays but Hamdan will be heavily involved in game planning and watching from the press box. Hmmm...how to incorporate the jet sweep, the WR screen on 3rd and long, the QB draw on 3rd and long and, always a fan favorite, the 'everybody in tight with 2 TEs on one side and then hand straight off to the only RB in the backfield over that overloaded side' (because NO ONE could see that coming)?

Too bad we don't play MSU next year. I'd love to to play defense against that guy. Never was impressed with him at all.

If history means anything, he will be successful once he moves away from working under Stoops.

I'd love to know the actual facts re: Stoops direct involvement with offensive play calling. I can't imagine him telling any OC what play to run other than in very specialized situations. Certainly his overall philosophy would thin the playbook down quite a bit for most OCs. But, calling bonehead plays like we've seen the last 2 years under Hamdan that literally had a snowball's chance in Hades of actually working? Why would he do that? Why would he force the offense to run a WR screen or QB draw on 3rd and 11- so we can punt? You think he called the reverse vs USC on the first play of the game a couple of years ago? Did he instruct Hamdan to throw a bomb every series earlier in the year only to change his mind and tell him to concentrate on short routes? I just don't see it. I do think his philosophy would make the OCs a bit less likely to push the envelope but I just don't buy the notion that he was calling a bunch of the idiotic plays we've seen called over the last few years (not just with Hamdan). It is very possible I'm dead wrong. Hence the reason I'd like to know the real facts.

With his background, I would a lot more believe that he was overriding White's calls on defense and muting our aggressiveness vs calling offensive plays. Wouldn't be the first time I don't know what I'm talking about.

Would love to know this as well.

I'll be very curious how White does at Florida calling the defense.

He should do better, just how much better remains to be seen.

I will be interested to see if White's scheme changes significantly. He should certainly have better talent if he wants to have the same passive scheme, so I would guess he'll do fine.

Yes, I agree. I think ever OC under Stoops has done better once they left UK. Apparently Hamdam will not be calling plays at Ms St, the head coach will.

IIRC, he would be due a buyout if fired for the remaining year on his contract. Haven't seen anything, was he fired or did he resign?
