Two Former Kentucky Wildcats to remain on Will Stein's Coaching Staff

The new Kentucky head football coach is piecing together his first coaching staff. While BBN is on pins and needles, waiting to see who Will Stein will bring to Lexington as his defensive coordinator, we’ve learned about two other staff additions.

KSR has confirmed that two former Kentucky Wildcats, Anwar Stewart and Mike Hartline, will remain with the team for the 2026 football season.

I'm pleased that Mike Hartline is staying but surprised at the same time. I thought sure he would be on Brian's staff at USF.

I guess coach Gran is history.

With a different philosophy, I think Stewart will be an asset. Like Hartline staying, also.

He had no luck: his only big time QB recruit broke his back, leading to the Bennie/Boom show in ‘16, ‘17, 18.

Then Terry went down in ‘19, leading to most bizzare (winning) season in UK football history, with LBJ coming within 9 yards of breaking Cam Newton’s SEC record for rushing yards by a QB

Compared to almost any 4 year era of Kentucky football, he had historic success, whilst constantly having to invent an offense on the fly.

We could have done far worse from 2016-2020.

Barker might the biggest "what-if" of the Stoops' era. He was absolutely slinging it for Gran before he got hurt. I've always wondered what he might have done had he stayed healthy.
