    Quiet Boards . . . .

I guess twitterverse, etc., has passed me by.

This is the only forum I’m registered to post on, but I visit others.

Combining all threads on all forums I visit, traffic is noticeably down from what I would guestimate peaking between 2005-2015.

NSD has like 1/5th the discussion of a
decade, ago, again, looking at multiple UK sites.

But I’m an old guy, missing old
stalwarts like RV, and others who have passed.

Maybe Will Stein can awaken a sleeping
giant, and re-invigorate the fan base.

Frankly, though, I’m a little queesy about the near future. I hope Coach Stein has a thicker skin than most 36 year olds. The first couple of seasons are likely tough on bowl possibilities.

I am older than most on this board. I miss RV and his blue jacket.

Glad you're here hack, you were pretty much an icon on the old RR. I started over there in 2003, changed my user name when I came over here.
I agree, hope he can change things up get some winning football. Been keeping up with the Cats since the Babe.
my next concern is Stein using Ky as a stepping sitone.
ah heck, Kentucky football has always been a constant worry

My fear is not that we are his stepping stone. . . we were Bear Bryant’s stepping stone, but we’d all love to live thru his eight seasons, again!

I fear that we will be his mill-stone, as we were for the next 5 of 7 head coaches after Bryant.

          I agree with Hack.

I'd love for Will Stein to use Kentucky as a stepping stone.

It means he did something fantastic.

Then we can hire the next coach who wants to use Kentucky as a stepping stone.

          Totally cool with it.

Like some of the others, on here, I'm one of the senior members both in terms of age and time here. I to miss some of the members like RV and Lighthouse who have passed away. Both of those fellows were major contributors to the site. Steve (Lighthouse) posted frequently on most of the forums. I don't recall how many posters we've had here at any one time in the past, but it seems to me this has always been one of the smaller boards. My thinking is that I prefer quality over quantity. I'd much rather have a smaller number of respectful posters than a larger number of disrespectful ones.

A Podcaster from Oregon stated it this way:' this is a great opportunity for Will Stein in that he can get comfortable, learn the ropes and prove himself as a head coach. No one expects him to make Kentucky a national contender, but he can show what he can do while improving the program'.

I ain't gonna lie...I would LOVE for Kentucky to be the next Indiana football, but right now a consistent winning program each year would be a good improvement.

I came over from WCF as well. That was 20+ years ago.

Yes - I wish there was a little more activity on this board. But it more than makes up for it in quality as Matt Dillon said. Rupp's Rafters had a lot of traffic, but was a complete disaster in a lot of other ways. Name calling, crude and vulgar language, posters posting all kinds of Off Topic stuff. And the game threads were downright toxic.

                      I'm much happier here.

This is the best Kentucky board. I read it every single day just don't post a lot on message boards anymore. I guess the novelty has wore off a bit for me the older I get. Been floating off and on here and the old WCF for a very long time now. Wasn't long ago I found a WCF long sleeved tee shirt I bought from the site. Anyone remember those? Had the Cawood Court logo on it as well as an Al McQuire quote on the back. It was so ragged and wore out that it wasn't even rag worthy.
