You don't always get your first choice, but they did here. So far it sounds like the pundits think it's a great hire. I would have been happy with Stein or Hartline, but I feel very excited about this hire.People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

I'm happy with this hire. I'll be honest, Stein wasn't my first choice, but he was in my top 5. I heard today that there were 3 main guys they were looking at/considering: Stein, Brian Hartline and Tyson Helton. Stein and Hartline were both in my top 5, but I'm glad they didn't hire Tyson Helton. Reason being, I'm a WKU alum and didn't want them to take Helton away from the Toppers! I have had season tickets since Stoll Field. Yes, I am in my 70s. After Saturday, no doubt in my mind Stoops was gone. I was about as discouraged as ever. New hope. New life in the football program. Fans changing their minds about giving up tickets. Let’s go Coach Stein!Comment

I hope he can hire a young, aggressive staff that will complement what he's doing on offense and who can recruit like gangbusters. Won't have the NIL resources that Oregon had but the gap may close if he puts a good product on the field.
I'm not discouraged by his 'inexperience' or him never being a HC. If you've got it, you've got it. He's worked under some good HCs and I believe he'll grow into the position seamlessly.Comment
