I know it was against a patsy but we've seen many backup QBs look like the only thing they're comfortable with is a handoff.

Whoever ends up in the QB room, I expect vastly improved coaching and scheme.
You think Stein is going to be the QB coach, the OC and HC?

This is apparently how we're affording the Stoops buyout. Stein is going to be the head coach and all of the assistants as well. I heard he's going to enroll in classes to become certified as the athletic trainer too!

Assuming he’s interested in staying, Boley would be a tough decision for me. He was a fairly well regarded prospect out of high school and had a couple of legitimately good games against SEC competition as a redshirt freshman this year, so there is some actual potential there. The problem is that he was really inconsistent and was pretty close to unplayable in his bad games. There’s definitely a chance that a better offensive staff can take him to the next level, but I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily assured. I’m glad I don’t have to make that decision.

As far as possible competition, Oregon fans seem to think that Austin Novosad could be a name to watch. He’s a former high 4 star prospect from Texas that Stein recruited to Oregon. He’s only gotten a few mop up snaps there so far, but now has a lot of time in the system and could be a candidate to follow his coach with a chance to earn a starting job that may not be open at Oregon depending on Dante Moore’s draft decision. It’s nice that we now have a coach that may actually allow us to have options at the position.

Of course not. I do/did think he would call his own plays and have a hand in coaching the QBs. But, as we've just learned, he already has hired an OC. I didn't express myself correctly in the previous post.

I like the OC hire and it's apparent that Stein has a very defined sense of what he wants to do on offense. And, if Boley moves on, I think Ward should stick around. I saw a glimpse of something from Ward that I'd to see if it's real or a mirage. Just looked like he knew what he was doing.
