I can’t see offering him $4 to $5 million. Fact that he’s a defensive coach eliminates him if I was hiring.

I just don't see him coming to Kentucky unless he gets passed on by every other high profile school.

He can make millions more per year and have millions more in resources at LSU, UF and Auburn.

Yet, the young are foolish, arrogant and idealistic.

I don't see that as eliminating him. mainly because he's still young and more in tune with modern college football and how it's changed. He's obviously adapted to it better than Stoops. But the article did mention that anywhere he might go would probably need to pony up for a high dollar OC. I also think Sumrall would stay out of their way more than Stoops. Sumrall has proven not to be a ground and pound conservative, keep games tight, control the clock kind of coach, like Stoops strives to be. Honestly, I have to think if Sumrall ends up here, he will reach out to Neal Brown to be his OC, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Too many better jobs that will come knocking to believe he'll end up at UK, especially if we manage a 5th win, which will mean at least one more year of Stoops. He won't wait around for a 2nd (?) tier job at UK with LSU, UF, AU, AR, maybe Clemson and/or USCjr, et al will most likely at least make contact and indicate interest in the next 60 days.

I can understand that, but I thought Saban was a defensive guy along with the guys at Georgia and Clemson.

You are right about Sanan and Smart. Dabo was a WR coach.

Being a def. coach doesn't bother me as long as the HC will hire a good OC and stay out of his way.

He gonna hire Kiffin for OC?

It wouldn't matter if Kiffin was our OC if Stoops was still the HC.

                            Tulane took down Memphis.

                            Raising Sumrall's stock further.

Even if Stoops is gone this year, Sumrall will be priced out of Kentucky's league.

Dabo had Brent Venables as his long-time DC before he left for Oklahoma. I think that's where a lot of folk tend to think Sweeny was a Defense guy. No, he just had a loyal, long time DC who held out for a premier job.
