NIL brings in a lot of outside voices with a lot of influence.
For better or worse, this is the world that NIL has created.
I was all for NIL. I just thought it would be guys getting money for licensing and the like.
Didn't realize that universities would completely screw it up so badly.
Schools should not be allowed to pay anything except a salary that is more or less equal across the board. A sliding scale for Top Players to bench and role players. Revenue sharing is what it should be and all players get paid based on a scale.
The big money should come from corporations and sponsorships for advertisements and the like.
I didn't think that schools would be shelling out millions of dollars for individual players most of whom wind up not being worth a wooden nickel. lol
There are about 10 to 15 kids MAX each year who are worth those big dollars. The rest should get rev share and not a whole lot more from the universities.
The crazy thing is that they're paying these big dollars for some of these kids and each year other kids rise up and take teams to wins and glory.

100%. No way James Franklin is fired mid season 5 years ago. He went 4-5 in the covid year and 7-5 the following year and they retained him. He then goes to the Rose, Peach and CFP semifinals the last 3 years and he's canned mid season the following year. Zero chance this happens if the current financial structure wasn't in place.Comment
