Mullen is an indifferent recruiter. But there is a case to be made that in this brave new world of portal and NIL, if you pair him with a strong GM/Personnel hire, he could do a helluva job at a place like UK.

He did fairly well at MSU, but I think his ceiling would be consistent 6-9 win seasons unless he decides to emphasize recruiting at a high level. I think his recruiting or lack thereof has been what's held him back from greatness.

He did fairly well at Florida too. Took them to the Peach, Orange and Cotton bowls and finished ranked 6th, 7th and 12th in his first 3 years. Went 6-6 in year 4 and was shown the door. They've gone 22-23 since.
