    Vandy coach

Does Vandy increase their coaches pay and extend his contract or do they lose him to a perceived better opportunity? With NIL I believe the perception process is totally different in college football.

Given the opportunity to live and build a winning program in Nashville, and at an academic powerhouse like Vandy with wealthy alumni, I'd be willing to bet he stays. NIL will change the equation for a lot of coaches. For the right guy, and he may be that guy, it's the opportunity of a lifetime. Just my opinion.

They're really just a couple turnovers from being 7-0. Pavia turned it over inside the 10 yard line at Alabama at least once. That was a game they could have won just as easily as they lost.

Completely forgot that! I remember the snickering when he said that there was no reason Vandy couldn't compete at the highest levels. No one's laughing now. Just surreal what they're doing down there.

Diego Pavia's eligibility for the 2025 season was granted through a preliminary injunction, and a recent federal court decision dismissed the NCAA's appeal as moot because he was already granted eligibility. The case revolves around Pavia's argument that the NCAA's rules unfairly count junior college time against his eligibility. Although he is currently playing in 2025, his lawsuit is ongoing, and his lawyers have indicated they will continue to challenge the NCAA's rules, potentially seeking a seventh season of eligibility in 2026, though Pavia has stated this is his last year.
                • Current Status: Pavia is eligible to play in the 2025 season due to a preliminary injunction he received in December 2024. A recent federal appeals court dismissed the NCAA's appeal of this injunction as moot because the NCAA had already granted Pavia full eligibility for the season.
                • The Lawsuit: Pavia is suing the NCAA over its eligibility rules, arguing they violate antitrust laws. His case centers on the NCAA counting his time at a junior college as part of his four-year eligibility, which he argues disadvantages him and other junior college players.
                • Potential for 2026: Although Pavia has stated that the 2025 season is his last, his legal team has indicated they will challenge the NCAA's redshirt rules to potentially gain eligibility for 2026. This is a strategic move to set a precedent for future athletes, not an indication of his personal desire to play another year.
                • NCAA's Position: The NCAA maintains that its rules are not a violation of antitrust laws and that they are necessary to prevent college sports from becoming an indefinite detour from education. They will continue to fight the lawsuit
