    OU vs TX

Venables just pulled a masterful imitation of Stoops and his ability to manage the clock before halftime.

OU picks up a first down near TX 32 yd line or thereabouts with 35-ish seconds on the clock and 1 TO. They make very little effort getting lined up and set and I'm thinking they'll run the clock down and kick the FG. Nope, call their last TO with 12 seconds left. Throw a bomb to the end zone, which is picked off. Have no idea what Venables was thinking or any inkling of what they were trying to do. An absolutely horrible mismanagement of the clock that resulted in not even trying for a FG. Very Stoopsian if that's a word.

Saw, and thought, the same. Bad, bad use of clock and even worse play call/execution. Good grief that was terrible.

Doesn't matter now as TX comfortably ahead. But, at the time, looked like a middle school PE teacher was coaching. Inexcusable at that level to mismanage that sequence as poorly as they did.

All I know is I’m proud of my Horns. Would’ve liked to have been there!
