TN Tech easy win? Maybe, maybe not

I've certainly been under the impression that TN Tech should be an easy walkover win. Just read an article on another site: Tn Tech is averaging > 40 ppg and giving up only 12 ppg, ranked in top 10 of FCS. Given Stoops' teams sometimes inexplicably mediocre performances against previous FCS teams, I may actually have to be a bit concerned. Throw in a team that may be in midst of a 6+ game losing streak (with several of them potentially beatdowns), a program that almost always has a 'stinker' game, a stadium that will not be half full and you have several ingredients for a much closer game than would be expected normally, if not an outright loss. If we somehow lose to TN Tech, whatever the cost Stoops has to go. He cannot be allowed to come back and 'fix' this mess. I would argue that even a close win (< 7 points) is a very obvious indicator that we're sliding into oblivion.

It may turn out that we rout them. But, several data points suggest it could be a nailbiter.

Sounds like a coach I’d be interested in.

Here's an article about him from when he left Old Dominion after the 2023 season. He helped found the ODU football program and had a really good run up until his last three years with them. Not sure what caused the downturn maybe, Like Stoops, his time was just up there.

If this season continues to be the train wreck it appears to be already, it will be interesting to see how many people will bother to attend the Tenn Tech game. I'm already strongly leaning towards not going. Empty seats send a message that can't be ignored.

^Barring some unexpected upsets in the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if only 25-30k show up. If it's cold and/or rainy, it will be really, really embarrassing how few fans show up. I'm sure that game will be televised and it will NOT be a good look to see half or more of the stadium completely empty. I would think some of our HS commitments might do some serious thinking about coming to UK if that plays out.

If a night game and/or the weather is bad, I will probably not go. Or at the very least, stay at the tailgate

Kickoff for Tenn Tech already set for 1:30. No regular TV, streaming only.

If we're sitting at 2-7 going into the game, there may not be that many regardless of the weather.

Everyone said the same thing about Toledo. If we were to lose to them. Stoop had better have his bags packed

Could Tennessee Tech be the loss that many expected against Toledo?

I expected a loss against Toledo.

                    I won't hide it.

That game was closer to a loss than many want to admit. Toledo just ran out of time. lol

At the moment TN Tech is 6-0. Points for: 310. Points against: 72.
